Meet Ronan – Inventor, Founder & CEO of EZ BINZ™
Born and raised on his family’s farm in County Mayo, Ireland, Ronan Heaney has always had a passion for problem-solving.
From a young age, he was building clever, handmade contraptions to make everyday tasks easier—a creative spirit that eventually led to the invention of EZ BINZ™.
From Builder to Inventor – Ronan’s Journey
In his early twenties, Ronan made the bold move from Ireland to the United States, settling in Boston, Massachusetts, where he began working as a foreman for a construction company. His journey soon led him to Chicago, Illinois, where he founded his own construction firm—now known as Heaney Group LLC.
It was in Chicago that Ronan met his wife, and together are raising two daughters while growing a thriving business. Over the past 30 years, Ronan has made his mark on the city by developing a wide range of residential properties, including single-family homes, condominiums, and apartment buildings across Chicago and its suburbs.
Never one to shy away from a new challenge, Ronan also ventured into the hospitality industry in 1997, successfully owning and operating several restaurants and bars.
The Birth of EZ BINZ™
It was through these hands-on experiences—especially in construction and hospitality—that he encountered a recurring frustration: the hassle of removing full garbage bags from bins without making a mess.
Determined to find a better way, Ronan began sketching out ideas and testing solutions. After countless hours of trial and error, he developed a simple yet brilliant concept: a garbage bin with a tilting front panel for effortless bag removal.
And with that, EZ BINZ™ was born—a smart, elegant solution to an everyday problem.
